Triund is one of the easy Himalayan treks with spectacular picturesque views of snow mountain ranges. Popularly a weekender, this trek is best for trekking and hiking lovers and also for families who are touring around Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. Anyone above 18 yrs can do this trek. It’s an easy trek with a refreshing camping experience in Himalayas.
Triund, as situated on a ridge with gorgeous views of Dhauladhar mountain ranges on one side and wide scenes of Kangra Valley on the other side.
The trek trail start from Mcleodganj via Dharamkot village and reaches upto Triund top, there are forests, herds of sheep, tibetan culture and flags can be found on the way to the top.

Gathering Point

Trekkers should report in Mcleodganj by 9am.
You can get fresh at our base camp in Mcleodganj and have breakfast also after which the trek starts.

Who can do this trek?

  • Beginners in the world of trekking can apply. Although, one must have a basic fitness and stamina to complete the trek
  • The ones who like general hiking can scale their game through this Himalayan trek
  • Experienced trekkers would have a gala time in this adventure walk.

Itinerary

Day 1Mcleodganj to Triund (9kms Trek, 4-5 hrs)

Gather in Mcleodganj by 9am. After a small brief, we start the trek via Dharamkot which is a small village of semi-nomadic Gaddi Shepherds. The trail makes its way through the woods of Himalayan Cedar, Rhododendron and Oak trees. Enjoy your packed lunch and some resting time somewhere in the middle of your walk. You then continue trekking to Triund top to reach campsite by early evening. Settle yourself in camps and enjoy the wide sunset Himalayan views. Enjoy dinner under the million star studded night with bonfire around. Retire for the day.

Day 2Triund to Snowline and Descend Back (10kms Trek, 2-3 hrs)

If possible, wake up to a spectacular sunrise, enjoy the first light on snow mountains and get some sunshine and then after breakfast, start descending back. The descending trail will end at Bhagsunag waterfall, enjoy your mid day waterfall treat there and proceed to Mccleodgang by early evening.

  • Accommodation: All tent & camping accommodation is included. Tent is separate for male and female participant.
  • Meals: (Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner). We provide simple, nutritious Veg food on all days of the trek.
  • Camping charges: All trekking permits and forest camping charges are included.
  • Trekking equipment: High quality tents, matt and sleeping bags in all the camps. Sleeping bags can withstand temperatures as low as -10 ºC.
  • Expert Trek Leaders & Support Crew: All our trek leaders are well experienced. The mountain staff on this trek consists of certified guides, cooks, helpers and porters.

  • Backpack offloading charges. If you wish to offload your backpack, there will be an additional charge of Rs. 500/day per bag.
