Kheer Ganga is nestled in the higher Parvati Valley and is popular for being home to a natural hotspring. It’s also a pilgrimage as it is the abode of the Hindu God Kartikay. As per mythology, by the grace of Lord Shiva and Parvati, ‘kheer’ used to flow in this valley, and later on it was turned to water by Lord Parashuram to maintain harmony. The natural hotspring is known as Parvati Kund and taking a dip is considered sacred and has the power to relieve you from different ailments. Another landmark here is a cave where Swami Kartikay meditated.
The trek has it all, be it ascend, descend, river, waterfalls, woods. Kheer Ganga has splendid views of the Himalayas with 5000er peaks(peaks with atleast 5000m altitude) right in front of your sight.

Arrive in Barshaini. You will be received and escorted to your stay in Kalga. Kalga is a beautiful village with Apple farms and a lot of sunflowers. Explore the village and acclimatize. Pulga is another village that is in the neighbourhood.
Today the trek begins. It’s 13-14 kms. It would take 4-6 hours so we begin early morning. The trail begins along the Parvati River that follows into the woods with tinge of adventure and a few waterfalls. Rudranaag a well known waterfall comes on the trail to Kheeraganga trek. Once you reach Kheer Ganga you will have the feeling that all the hardwork of the trek is just worth it, and a dip in the hot water spring will do away with all your tiredness.
Before we leave this place, you may visit the temple and you might want to spend some more time in the hotspring. And for the record, at Kheer Ganga you are closer to the origin of Parvati River because as we trek further from here we could reach ‘Mantalai’, an alpine lake that is considered as the origin of Parvati River. We come back down to Barshaini in time. The last bus from here to Bhuntar is at 6 PM. Cabs are available from Barshaini as well for the return.
A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite.

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia.
It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth. Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however.
